Laser hair removal employs the use of a laser to target hair follicles, thereby inhibiting hair growth. While it can slow hair growth for extended periods of time, it is not usually permanent. It requires multiple treatments and works best on light skin with dark hair, but it is suitable for all skin types. If you need laser hair removal Kingwood services, head to the website.

Why should you go for laser hair removal?

Clients usually go for laser hair removal when they want to get rid of unwanted hair on the legs, armpits, upper lip, and bikini lines. Success is determined by hair color and skin type, with dark hair and light skin producing the best results because the laser targets hair pigment while avoiding skin damage. It is not, however, suitable for treating eyelid hair, tattoos, or dark skin.

    Is it safe?

Because of the contrast in hair and skin color, laser hair removal is safer and more effective for people with darker hair and lighter skin. Because of advancements in laser technology, this treatment is now available to people with darker skin. It is, however, less effective for gray, red, blond, and white hair, though ongoing research is aimed at improving treatment options for lighter-colored hair.

    What are the risks associated?

The risks of laser hair removal side effects vary according to skin type, hair color, and treatment plan. Temporary skin irritation with redness and swelling is common, as are possible pigment changes that may darken or lighten the skin, especially with sun exposure before or after treatment or in people with darker skin.

Blistering, scarring, or changes in skin texture are uncommon side effects of laser hair removal, as is graying of treated hair or excessive hair growth around treated areas. Due to the risk of severe eye injury, it is not recommended for eyelids, brows, or surrounding areas.

What do you need to do?

Choose a board-certified doctor who is familiar with your skin type for laser hair removal. If a physician assistant or nurse is performing the procedure, make sure a doctor is present to supervise. Avoid facilities that use nonmedical personnel to perform laser hair removal. Before beginning treatment, consult with your doctor to determine your suitability.

    Final thoughts:

Your doctor will review your medical history, discuss risks, benefits, and expectations, and take photos for evaluation before performing laser hair removal to design a treatment plan and give you instructions on what to do.
