Sleeping for at least seven to eight hours each night will help boost various processes in the body. Unfortunately, you may not sleep well if you snore loudly and gasp for air when you are asleep.     Sometimes it can be tempting to drink alcohol when you experience the inability to sleep. While the sedative features of alcohol can aid in sleep onset, you will experience sleep disruptions in your sleep cycle. Essentially, the alcoholic compounds relax the muscles increasing the chances of the throat muscles blocking the airways. Therefore, you should limit alcohol consumption to avoid trouble in getting quality sleep.

    Sleep Apnea Is Not a Major Health Issue

    Many believe this sleep disorder only affects an individual’s ability to get quality sleep. This myth has hindered some people from pursuing the relevant treatment for this condition. However, the resulting fatigue and tiredness from the lack of quality sleep, can heighten the risk of developing other health concerns such as diabetes and heart diseases.

    A night of quality sleep is good for your overall health. Nonetheless, if you snore loudly at night, it can be problematic for you and your partner to sleep deeply. Therefore, you should consider an electromyography test to check whether you have sleep apnea. For a better experience, it is good to understand this sleep condition using the above-debunked myths. For example, if you think that sleep apnea is not a major health issue, you will learn that it can trigger other health complications.
